Process Alarms

Monitor plant-based measurements and provide alarms or control simple feedback loops with these reliable alarm modules.

DPA Series - Auxiliary Powered, Dual Setpoint, Alarms

Dual Channel, Alarm Modules

The DPA series of trip modules can be configured for just about any industrial input and provide two user adjustable trip points for warning or control.

The alarm points are set up using potentiometers to adjust setpoint and deadband. The deadband reduces chatter when an alarm is triggered/reset by adjusting the reset point away from the setpoint (hysteresis). To generate an alarm when power is lost to the unit simply select normally energized operation for one or both of the output relays. You can also select High/Low operation independently for each channel.

Inputs sources currently accepted include temperature (thermocouple or RTD), DC/AC currents and voltages, frequency, conductivity, slidewire wiper position, resistance, differential current and differential resistance. The input type is governed by plug-in personality card (with versions available for just about any industrial input).

The housing clips onto both DIN and G rail. Wiring connections are by plug-in connectors on the front of the instrument.

Features:

  • Two independent SPDT alarm outputs
  • Flexible design caters for many input types
  • High and Low alarms in any combination
  • Stable and repeatable
  • 5A switching capacity
  • Completely isolated
  • Easy to use
  • DIN and G rail mounted

Micromann R Series

Universal, Auxiliary powered, Alarm modules

Micromann R series alarms offer two highly flexible alarm channels for signal monitoring applications with SPDT relay alarm outputs.

Their advantage over analog designs is that you can easily set the setpoint and deadband in engineering units from the front panel keypad (avoiding awkward potentiometer adjustments).

Standard units have programmable setpoint, deadband, high/low action, coil energization and variable timer delays on each channel. Each model covers a range of similar input signal and sensor types.

Versions Available Include:

  • Analog current/voltage
  • Temperature (thermocouple and RTD)
  • Frequency based signals
  • Conductivity
  • Thermocouple units also incorporate sensor burnout alarms

The XFA/R extends on the standard functions giving you the option to set rate of change alarms, deviation alarms and loss of signal alarms (for elevated zero signals) on any standard analogue current/voltage signal format. It also has two alarm inhibit inputs for more complex applications.

In common with all Micromann series units they have a four digit/character display, which you can scale to read in any engineering unit. All parameters then work off the displayed value. The user friendly software makes setting up operating parameters very easy: simply choose the settings you need using the display and the tactile keypad.

The housing clips onto both DIN and G rail. Wiring connections are by plug-in connectors on the front of the instrument.

Features:

  • Two versatile alarm channels
  • Dual SPDT relay outputs
  • Display in engineering units
  • Independent setpoint, deadband, high/low
action, coil energization and timer delay

  • Complete isolation

  • Easy to use

  • No internal adjustments needed

  • Change configuration without need
    to recalibrate
